It definitely has its place in cinematic sound design, but I definitely categorize this one in the вЂyou already know if you need itвЂ™ classification. I found Mysteria to be fun for crafting vocal textures, but I am not completely convinced I want to put aside 30gb of space for it. Having access to so many different guitar articulations at the press of a keyswitch really allows you to bring out the natural sound in the samples and make it very convincing. The guitar loops provided are diverse, and putting the guitar in вЂmelody modeвЂ™ truly gives you the flexibility to get guitar tracks that are nearly indistinguishable from an actual player. The Session Guitarist instruments are very much worth the investment in time it takes to learn them.

The particles engine doesnвЂ™t just add вЂpadsвЂ™ to your piano, but it actually adds rhythmic textures and swirling motion behind the piano in a way that makes you want to explore every preset (which, IвЂ™ll admit, I did). Add the ability to insert a felt dampener between the hammers and the strings and now you can get a truly mellow piano tone that really sits way back in the mix. There are 16gb worth of samples and dynamic layers, it sounds rich and playable. Noire would be an excellent piano instrument on its own. This holds true with the other sampled instruments. Add a mix interface that allows you to play back activated rhythm patterns on each instrument, and youвЂ™ve got an incredibly useful engine for generating realistic sounding mallet patterns. They are meticulously sampled, and have a level of polish that feels wonderful. Mallet Flux, for examples, offers some truly inspiring mallet instruments that sound absolutely stunning. The interesting thing about these instruments is their propensity to offer two complete paradigms.

just pay me a few bucks beyond the shipping cost and its yours.The sampled instruments see a significant upgrade this time around with the inclusion of Noire, Stradivari (I tested the Ultimate edition which came with the violin), Mallet Flux, Mysteria, and Session Guitarist. So if you want it, you can have it for VERY cheap. Makes my current gear look more important. It's worth more as an aesthetic 'unit I don't use anymore b/c I've got better stuff now' piece of gear. b/c it's sitting here collecting dust and it's not worth the hassle of putting a listing up on eBay.

but the hardware side left a lot to be desired. The software side of it looks fine and well thoughtout. No offense to those who love it b/c I know it has it's fanboys. the hardware controller is way too unintuitive, the buttons are low quality, i personally feel like it's a POS. I'm sure it had other features that are useful to some. I grabbed Kore 2 second hand for cheap a few months ago b/c I basically wanted to browse the Komplete instruments with a hardware controller. This makes me feel very fortunate as a Kore owner. If they were to open up that capability it might be enough for me to pull the trigger.Д®veryone keeps talking about 'great' browsing with and Kontrol S.

I'm intrigued by the arpeggiator and chord capability, but like others feel it limits the Kontrol's value if I can't output the notes to my DAW of choice. I wonder if it would help to have a dedicated monitor over the Kontrol to browse with? Even if I have to look at the monitor it doesn't seem like it will take me out of the workflow as much.

Right now I have a Launchkey and Axiom (both 49's), and I have to browse via PC or the Maschine. I have a Maschine with Komplete 9, and I know people are saying that it makes the Kontrol redundant, but I like the Fatar keys, and being able to browse patches from the keyboard makes sense to me. We trust our customers.' Suddenly one happy customer glad to have invested a fair chunk of change with Native Instruments.That's a cool experience, glad to hear NI has such a good customer policy.ДЄs for the Kontrol S, I'm pretty intrigued. NI's response to my concerns? 'Don't sweat it, you're fine.

Boom, had it for 5 days and I have already lost an install (and I had plans - lappy was due for an upgrade and desktop was on the way). I had just got K8U and installed it on a laptop, which died in such a way that I couldn't uninstall. Gotta say that as grumpy as I am about the Australian pricing when I did have a problem with licensing NI were stellar.
